Samer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that healing occurs in the relationships that we have not only with others, but with ourselves. His passion for counseling stems from a deep fascination with the human experience and a commitment to creating a safe, affirming space where individuals can transform suffering into growth, wisdom, and inner peace. Samer earned his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, with an emphasis in Clinical Practice with Gender and Sexually Diverse Communities. He became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2021 and has dedicated his career to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care to individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

Samer is particularly passionate about supporting individuals who are exploring questions of identity, meaning, and belonging. He views therapy as an opportunity for clients to intentionally examine their values, goals, and life experiences while developing a stronger sense of self. Much of his work focuses on what he describes as “individual relationship work,” focusing on clients’ relationships with themselves and their relationships to others, and how those relationships impact wellbeing.

Dedicated to providing affirming, culturally responsive care, Samer understands the importance of creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. As a “third-culture kid,” he is especially attuned to the unique experiences of individuals navigating multiple cultural identities, particularly at the intersections of ethnicity, gender, and sexuality.

Samer’s counseling style is warm, collaborative, and individualized. He utilizes an eclectic array of therapeutic approaches because he believes there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. At the foundation of his work is a person-centered philosophy that recognizes each individual as inherently worthy—not a problem to be fixed. He helps clients explore patterns of thinking and behavior that may be interfering with the life they want to live while fostering greater self-awareness, connection, and resilience.

His clinical approach incorporates person-centered therapy, exploration of family and caregiver influences, relationship-focused interventions, and somatic techniques that address the connection between emotional experiences and physical well-being. Clients can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where they can process past experiences, better understand present challenges, and develop meaningful strategies for the future.

Known for his curiosity, compassion, and sense of humor, Samer strives to build authentic therapeutic relationships that help clients feel safe, connected, and empowered. He believes that clients are the experts on their own lives and that therapy works best when it is guided by each person’s unique goals, values, and vision for their future.

Samer joined Vivent Health because of his commitment to community healthcare and his belief in holistic, judgment-free care. He values working alongside multidisciplinary professionals who are dedicated to supporting the dignity, wellness, and quality of life of the individuals they serve. He recognizes the courage it takes to seek support and is honored to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change.
