Olivia Estrada
Bio
Dr. Olivia Estrada brings more than 12 years of experience in community mental health to her role as Associate Director of Behavioral Health and Wellness at Vivent Health. She earned her PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Capella University in 2025 and her Master of Education in School Counseling in 2016. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Texas and has been fully licensed since 2019.
Throughout her career, Dr. Estrada has served in a variety of community mental health roles, including therapist, program manager, utilization management specialist, and crisis team lead. Her work has focused on supporting individuals who are often underserved within the healthcare system and society at large. She is dedicated to meeting clients where they are while addressing the complex relationship between mental and physical health, particularly for individuals living with HIV.
Dr. Estrada takes an integrative approach to therapy, recognizing that no single therapeutic model is the right fit for every person. Instead, she tailors treatment to each client’s unique needs by thoughtfully combining evidence-based approaches that align with their goals, strengths, and life experiences. She most commonly integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients identify and change unhelpful thought and behavior patterns, with Analytical Therapy, which explores underlying beliefs, unconscious patterns, life experiences, and identity to promote deeper self-understanding and lasting personal growth. This individualized approach allows clients to build practical coping skills while also gaining meaningful insight into themselves and their relationships.
Dr. Estrada is particularly passionate about the intersection of physical and mental health and believes that emotional wellness is an essential component of overall healthcare. Her experience working in nonprofit organizations has reinforced the importance of integrated care models like those provided at Vivent Health, where medical and behavioral health services work together to support the whole person.
In addition to providing therapy, Dr. Estrada is deeply committed to the growth and development of the counseling profession. Her pursuit of a PhD was driven by a passion for educating, supervising, and mentoring future mental health professionals while promoting ethical practice, clinician well-being, and high-quality client care. In her leadership role, she is honored to support both clients and clinical teams as they navigate the emotional, psychological, and social impacts of living with HIV, fostering hope, resilience, and meaningful change.
