Daniel Vo (he/him)
Physician at Vivent Health since 2021
Dr. Vo’s desire to help people started when he was a kid. His parents had immigrated to the United States before he was born, and as a child, Dr. Vo lived with a lot of chronic health conditions. That left his parents, who were still learning English, struggling to navigate the healthcare system and taking odd jobs to help make ends meet.
“I witnessed firsthand a lot of the struggles of people who don’t have a lot of resources,” he says. “That very, very strongly shaped my decision to be a doctor and pay it forward—to help others like me.”
And that’s truly what Dr. Vo is at Vivent Health to do: to help. That’s why he always lets his patients tell him what they need, not the other way around.
“I’m not here to do tell anyone what to do,” he says. I’ll give them information, but I want them to be the driver of their own health. I want them to be in the front seat with me as more of a passenger.”
It’s especially important to Dr. Vo to provide that kind of customized care, because each of his patients is so unique, and all are at different stages of life.
“Some of my patients come to me newly diagnosed, and they’re overwhelmed and scared. I want them to feel like there’s hope and they can live a long, healthy life,” he says.
Dr. Vo also sees patients who have been living with HIV for years and, as they get older, are starting to deal with more issues related to aging.
“I want them to know that I’m here for them to provide support through all of their various medical issues,” he says. “And we’ll help coordinate all of it to make sure they get the best care possible.”
And being able to provide that kind of care alongside the rest of the team at Vivent Health just makes Dr. Vo love it here even more.
“It’s unique how close-knit the group is here,” he says. “I love working in a place that’s able to provide so much to our patients.
Dr. Vo earned his Medical Degree at the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock in 2015 before completing a residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 2018 and a Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 2021.
