Dr. Leslie Cockerham is the Vice President of Medical Affairs for Vivent Health. In addition to providing medical care to her patients, Dr. Cockerham is responsible for leading the medical clinic operations of Wisconsin’s largest HIV clinic. Dr. Cockerham received her medical degree from Northwestern University and completed her residency and infectious disease fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. She also has a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from UCSF. Dr. Cockerham’s research has focused on understanding how HIV can cause immune dysfunction and persist even with long-term antiretroviral therapy. She is planning to continue exploring strategies that target these mechanisms with the goal of bringing us closer to achieving the eradication of HIV.
