Statement by Vivent Health on the Trump Administration’s Rule Eliminating LGBTQIA+ Protections

The end of the current administration and its seemingly unending attacks on the civil rights of all Americans cannot come soon enough. The recently announced plans by the administration to allow government-funded agencies to withhold services from LGBT individuals is nothing more than systemic, institutional oppression. It will harm our nation’s ability to end the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and make our shared goals of working to end HIV even more difficult. But even worse, it reinforces a notion that discriminating against people based on who they love or their gender is acceptable.

At Vivent Health, we are firmly and fully committed to the full support and inclusion of everyone who needs our care, regardless of who they love, the color of their skin, their gender or their economic status. This kind of attack must be rejected and turned back.
