Vivent Health Opens State-of-the-Art HIV Health Clinic in Austin
New Location Offers Patients Expanded Services, Greater Access
Austin, TX; May 16, 2022 — Vivent Health, which merged with AIDS Services Austin in 2020, today announced the opening of its new, integrated, state-of-the-art health clinic built to assure greater access to HIV prevention, care, and treatment services for thousands of people in and around Austin.
The 35,000 square-foot state of the art facility is located at 6505 Airport Blvd., Austin, TX 78752. It has dedicated, free parking and is conveniently located on several bus routes and near Highland Station on the Metrorail Red Line, making it easily reachable by people who depend on public transportation.
People who choose Vivent Health for their HIV care and prevention will continue to receive the same high-quality services they have come to expect delivered by the same caring team of professionals they know and trust. Now, they can also look forward to receiving all medical, dental, mental health, substance use and pharmacy services; food pantry with nutrition services; housing support; and case management services at one location.
Vivent Health’s unique approach to care has made it a national leader in successful treatment and prevention of HIV because they recognize that in addition to health care needs, people living with HIV often face discrimination, homelessness, hunger, and poverty. Vivent Health addresses each of these barriers to patient health through a comprehensive, integrated, patient-centered system of support services. Delivering services under one roof is the most effective way to ensure the best health outcomes for the people they serve.
In addition to expanded services for people currently living with HIV, the new clinic is designed to provide enhanced HIV prevention services – including PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), one of the most effective HIV prevention strategies available. Available through prescription and taken once a day as directed by a doctor, PrEP is up to 99 percent effective at preventing HIV.
“When ASA and Vivent Health announced our merger in the spring of 2020, we promised the community and the people we serve that our coming together would bring a new model of care and greater access to health services in Austin. The opening of this beautiful, welcoming, and modern health care facility is another way we are making good on the promises we made,” said Susan Campion, Vivent Health Vice President of Operations.
Vivent Health patients and clients should continue to schedule appointments by contacting their case managers directly or by calling 512-220-7609.
